Ladies enjoy a Licence to Lunch

Ladies Lunch 2017

Our annual Ladies Lunch was attended by 350 guests on the 14th of June at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa. The Lunch now in its 13th year was more successful than ever and an amazing £46,000 was raised.

This year’s theme was James Bond and the room was decorated with “a view to a thrill.” Verdure supplied beautiful feather and floral displays whilst Keyteq provided astounding lighting features. Tables were adorned with diamonds and gifts, including samples kindly provided by Clarins at Rackhams. Goodie bags were filled with treats from supporters such as L’Oreal and Andrew Collier Photography.

Ladies were greeted on arrival with a Mere Royale – “stirred not shaken.” Stilt walkers from Gravity Live welcomed the guests whilst Ice Cream Dub provided them with lovely ice cream. The reception hosted various competitions, shopping stalls and lavish pampering treatments including a nail bar and Wish Upon a Sparkle. Taking pride of place in the entrance was an Aston Martin which was donated by Aston Martin Wilmslow for a lucky raffle-prize winner to use exclusively for a weekend.

Following the reception, the ladies sat down to an afternoon of food, prize giving, auctions, and entertainment all hosted by the marvellous Paul Sleem. The Ladies were also entertained by our surprise guests; the Bond Boys! The Adventure Farm Trustees and staff surprised the ladies by dressing as the bygone Bonds but the surprises did not stop there as the Bonds were joined on stage by Mr Patrick McBride – the Milk Tray Man himself.

Guests were as generous as ever as they bid on auction prizes such as an exclusive day on the set of Cold Feet. A luxurious overnight stay at The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House was also up for grabs as were trips to Paris and a journey on the Belmond Northern Belle. The day concluded with music from Gavin Jones which got the ladies up on their feet.

CAFT would like to thank all volunteers, supporters and guests for their ongoing generosity and support. The event was truly a success and a great deal was raised for the continuation of services provided by CAFT for the deserving children of the North West.
