Snowdon to Pisa to Nice

Two fundraising challenges in aid of CAFT have started in the Welsh mountains and will finish in the French Riviera. The back to back challenges have begun and both will be taken on by our Challenge Organiser, Jure.

To begin, on the 14th of July, 100 participants gathered at the basecamp to begin a night-time walk to the summit of Snowdon. The weather was poor but spirits were not dampened, as before the walk began participants were entertained by local circus performers and enjoyed a hearty meal of freshly made paella. Despite the typical Welsh weather, all walkers made it up the dark mountain path to reach the summit before dawn. After the descent, everyone tucked into a breakfast bap before heading back to CAFT HQ. Many thanks and a massive well done to all participants and volunteers who took part. The walk was not easy but thanks to you a great deal was raised for CAFT.

Next up on Jure’s challenge itinerary was to catch a ferry, drive to Italy and get ready for a bikeride from Pisa to Nice. The bikeride, sponsored by Sneddon Construction and Thermotech will involve 11 riders making their way in the hot summer sun from Italy to France. The challenge officially began on Wednesday the 19th and only a few hours in, Jure had a slight set back with a puncture! It was quickly repaired and they continued on their way. The ride will be a real challenge in the heat so we wish them all the best of luck.

More updates and photos will follow on Jure’s return. Stayed tuned!
