Probably one of world’s most diverse trekking areas is situated in the southern highlands of Iceland, the third-biggest geothermal zone in the world. There are very few places that offer such diverse landscapes and scenic views. On the trek there are colorful rhyolite mountains, huge and rugged glaciers, steaming hot springs, rivers of every shape and size, peaceful lakes, narrow ridges, immense waterfalls, deep canyons and panoramic views of the North Atlantic Ocean. Camping in the remote wilderness ensures a unique way of experiencing this stunning and diverse landscape. This trek truly has it all!
DAY 1: Fly to Reykjavik. Transfer to camp.
DAY 2: Climb up through the rhyolite, cross lava fields, pass steaming
vents and a hot spring. 9 hrs
DAY 3: Enter a beautiful glacial area. Follow a mountain track and wade
through ice cold streams. 7 hrs
DAY 4: Cross more rivers and enjoy views of the amazing Markarfljót
gorge. Transfer to Reykjavík. 7 hrs
DAY 5: Free time in Reykjavik. Fly to London
