Costa Rica Challenge 2011
16 brave adventurers took on the jungle in Costa Rica, trekking from the highest point on the Trans-American Highway, 'Mountain of Death', to reach the ocean, experiencing horrific conditions. Participants spent most of the time cliding on their bottoms through the mud and strewn jungle terrain and enduring 11 hours of arduous trekking for 6 consecutive days. This amazing group of CAFT challengers raised a staggering £38,000!
3 Volcano Trek 2012
The 3 Volcano Trek went with a bang as 32 intrepid trekkers braced the storms which swept Italy as they scaled up Vesuvius, Stromboli and Etna. They braved steep inclines, narrow crater rims and rough (and sometimes dangerous) terrain. The weather meant they had to be creative when planning their routes on each day as cloud cover, galeforce winds and driving rain made a tough trek even tougher. Within 6 days the team of trekkers experienced 4 flights, 12 bus journeys, 2 ferrys, 2 bus fires, climbed 3 volcanoes, slept in 4 different hotels and 1 ferry and eaten 6 questionable Italian meals whilst meeting 31 amazing friends along the way. This memorable trip will have raised in excess of £25,000.
