Meet CAFT Patron, Carol Robinson

My inspiration to support CAFT really began when I met Tim Grundy, the charity’s founder 30 years ago and heard him talk about his vision. His passion and enthusiasm stayed with me long after that conversation, and I remember thinking straight away that this was something I wanted to be part of and support in any way I could.

At the time of meeting Tim & hearing about CAFT, I was running a business with my husband, and we both wanted to support CAFT in any way we could. We started by taking a table at the CAFT Ball, entering a team in the Golf Day, and were also proud to sponsor a residential visit for the children when the opportunity arose. Since retiring from the business, I’ve had much more time to get involved with CAFT, and I’ve absolutely loved it. It feels good knowing I can help make a difference, and being part of such a lovely team is something I really enjoy. I truly hope I can continue supporting this amazing charity for many years to come.

“Knowing those efforts truly change the lives of the children and families CAFT supports means so much to me”

Over the years, I’ve helped at an array of CAFT events, including the Easter, Halloween, and Christmas visits, stepping in wherever I’ve been needed. During COVID, I sorted donations & even roped my daughter in!  What I love most, though, is helping the Fundraising Team with the CAFT events — the Ladies Luncheon and the Fashion Show to name just two — because seeing people come together to raise vital funds and knowing those efforts truly change the lives of the children and families CAFT supports means so much to me.

I am also most proud of being able to support CAFT by using my fundraising & organisational skills & running my own Events like Afternoon Teas, Jumble Sales & Ladies Shopping Evenings. Seeing people come together & being able to talk to our supporters about all the amazing work CAFT do is something I really love.

“I’m always proud to share its story”

CAFT holds a very special place in my heart. Seeing firsthand the difference it makes to children and their families is incredibly emotional. Organising my own events gives me the opportunity to raise vital funds while also sharing just how special this charity is and the real difference it makes.  I’m always proud to share its story.
